Miriam Gray speaks about her background and education, including at the University of Missouri and Columbia University Teachers College; her time in New York City including seeing performances by Mary Wigman, Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Fred and Adele Astaire, and others; her first years as a teacher; her further studies of dance, in Hawaii, and at Columbia University; the many dancers and ground-breaking choreography she saw in performance; the resumption of her teaching career; changes in her students over the years; current trends in dance [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2].
