Siegel speaks about Doris Humphrey and the films shown in the auditorium of the Library and Museum of the Performing Arts [now the New York Public LIbrary for the Performing Arts] at Lincoln Center as part of a dance film series, on November 7, 1977. Streaming audio file 1 (approximately 48 minutes). [Begins abruptly.] Unidentified speaker [possibly Genevieve Oswald] introduces Marcia B. Siegel; Marcia B. Siegel speaks about dance on camera and its uses; Doris Humphrey and her choreography; introduces and comments on the films shown: a circa 1924 film that includes performances of Ted Shawn's Death of Adonis, his Cuadro flamenco, and Humphrey's Hoop dance; a 1934 film of Humphrey's Air for the G string; a 1966 film of Humphrey's Water study; a film showing dancers at Mills College in 1939 and at Bennington College in 1938; a 1972 film of Humphrey's New dance [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2]. Streaming audio file 2 (approximately 37 minutes). Marcia B.
