Ruth Lovell Murray speaks briefly about Dorothy La Salle's background; Dorothy La Salle speaks about her training, at Columbia University Teachers College, and how she came to focus on dance; her experience at the National Convention of the American Physical Education Association in 1930 in Boston (Mass.), in particular, how this led to her work with dance education in elementary schools; Mary O'Donnell and the formation of the Dance section of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation [later American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance]; her time at the United States Department of Education during World War II; how dance education in public schools has changed over the years.
