Description
Interview with Stuart Sebastian conducted by Walter Terry on October 11, 1974. Streaming audio file 1 (approximately 31 minutes). Stuart Sebastian speaks with Walter Terry about his background including his early training with Jo [Josephine] Schwartz and choreographing a full-length ballet when he was 15; theater and dance including his interest in theatrical dance; his decision to leave dance to go to college [American University]; his experience at college including his studies and how he is paying for his education; teaching [ends abruptly]. Streaming audio file 2 (approximately 24 minutes). Stuart Sebastian speaks with Walter Terry about realism in the theater; his thoughts on education in the United States today; the intellectual isolation of most dancers; how his world has broadened since he stopped performing.
