Interview with Fernando Bujones conducted by John Gruen, as host, for broadcast on January 2, 1977 by radio station WNCN-FM, New York on its series The sound of dance. Streaming audio file (approximately 56 minutes). John Gruen, as host, introduces Fernando Bujones and speaks about the upcoming season of American Ballet Theatre; Gruen and Bujones speak about his status at American Ballet Theatre; his own company; his early training, in Cuba and Florida and at the School of American Ballet; his reasons for joining American Ballet Theatre instead of New York City Ballet [a recording of an excerpt of the music by Riccardo Drigo from the ballet Le corsaire is played]; [commercial announcements]; Gruen and Bujones speak about his upcoming debut [as Albrecht] in Giselle; Mikhail Baryshnikov and his new production of The nutcracker; his relationship with Baryshnikov at the company; winning the gold medal at the International Ballet Festival in Varna, Bulgaria; his on stage personality and style [a recording of an excerpt of the music by Peter Illich Tchaikovsky from the ballet The nutcracker is played]; his partners including Yoko Morishita, Natalia Makarova, Eleanor D'Antuono, and Cynthia Gregory; upcoming roles; his aspirations; Gruen's closing remarks [closing remarks by unidentified speaker; ends abruptly].
