Description
Tracks 1-3: A 10-minute interview with Michael (Mike) Ellis conducted by Max Wilk in London on October 19, 1971. Ellis speaks about the creation of the song "Mona Lisa"; Betty Davis's performance in "Two's company", which Ellis produced with James Russo and Duke Vernon who wrote the music;" Wilk and Elis share stories related to musicals, performers, and songwriters. Tracks 4-13: John Fearnley, a stage manager and director, closely identified with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein's work, speaks about the duo; his experience with directing their musicals; the shows they produced; the fallout between Irving Berlin and Richard Rodgers; preparation of "Annie get your gun"; musical compositions for "The King and I"; Cole Porter and other prominent composers and lyricists. These two interviews take place within one week from each other and blend into one.
