Interview with Nicholas Polajenko and Igor Youskevitch conducted by Marian Horosko (approximately 12 minutes), and interview with Virginia Gross conducted by Alvin H. Reiss (approximately 10 minutes), for broadcast on radio station WNYC-FM, New York, on its series World of Dance, in November, 1965. The interview with Polajenko and Youskevitch includes discussion of a short dance film then a work-in-progress, but it was not possible to determine its title or whether it was ever finished and distributed. Streaming file (approximately first 12:55 minutes). [Music and introductory remarks by an unidentified announcer; introductory remarks by Marian Horosko]. Nicholas Polajenko speaks with Marian Horosko about his career; Igor Youskevitch speaks about some of his partners; his company Ballet Romantique including his choice of the adjective "romantique;" Youskevitch and Polajenko speak about Rudolf Nureyev as a dancer; the short dance film [title not given] they are making, to be loosely based on events in Youskevitch's career. [The interview with Polajenko and Youskevitch ends at approximately 12:52 minutes; Horosko introduces host, Alvin H. Reiss.] Streaming file (from approximately 12:55 minutes to 27:04 minutes). Alvin H. Reiss introduces his guest Virginia Gross, director of International Dance Tours; Virginia Gross speaks with Reiss about taking a group of Americans to Europe to learn about ballroom dancing there; the diverse backgrounds of the participants; meeting with local ballroom dancers and teachers in the cities they visited; her hope that ballroom dancing will become an Olympic sport; plans for future tours. [The interview with Virginia Gross ends at approximately 21:52 minutes. The remainder of the recording contains closing remarks and announcements by Marian Horosko and music and closing remarks by an unidentified announcer.]
