Sound quality is good. The recording is marred by occasional extraneous noise, but the speakers' voices are easily intelligible.
Description
Interview with Erik Bruhn conducted by John Gruen as research for his book Erik Bruhn: danseur noble (1979), in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 22, 1977. This is Part 9 of an 18-part series. However, there is no audio for parts 2 and 10, which are available only as edited transcripts. Streaming file (approximately 22 minutes). Erik Bruhn speaks with John Gruen about playing the role of Madge, the witch in La sylphide; John Neumeier's Epilogue, created for him and Natasha [Natalia Makarova]; José Limón's The moor's pavane including his impressions of Rudolf Nureyev as the Moor; learning the role of the Moor; his plans for the future including performances of various character roles.
