Lee Edward Stern introduces Walter Terry; Walter Terry speaks with Lee Edward Stein about his remarkable memory for song lyrics; Mikhail Baryshnikov including his time at New York City Ballet; his reservations about Baryshnikov's appointment as director as American Ballet Theatre; (briefly) Baryshnikov as an artist; Cynthia Gregory; Lucia Chase including her role at American Ballet Theatre; Alexander Godunov; Terry's biography of August Bournonville [The king's ballet master; a biography of Denmark's August Bournonville, 1979]; his role in introducing Bournonville's ballets to the United States; La sylphide; the Bournonville style including the dramatic nature of his ballets; the use of mime and relatively slow pace of Bournonville's ballets. [Music and closing announcement followed by approximately one minute of an unrelated recording.]
