DescriptionInterview with Anton Dolin conducted by Walter Terry, as host; for broadcast on January 16, 1967 by radio station WNYC, New York, on its series Invitation to dance.
Walter Terry introduces Anton Dolin, speaking briefly about his career and background including the origins of Dolin's ballet Pas de quatre. Anton Dolin speaks about his ballet Pas de quatre including how he was inspired by a lithograph; ballerinas who have danced in it, and different productions he has staged; his own staging of Giselle, dancing Albrecht with Olga Spessivtzeva, and [Nikolaĭ Grigorʹevich] Sergeeev's reconstruction of Giselle upon which his own is based; his discussion with [Sergei] Diaghilev about a proposed revival of Giselle that Diaghilev wanted to produce for Dolin and Spessivtzeva; his work as a writer including his biography of Olga Spessivtzeva; his work as a character dancer; the opening of the Adeline Genée Theater in London. [Closing remarks by unidentified speaker and music.]
