Description
One of the series of WQXR radio programs "The music and the people of Finland," includes weather forecast, commercials, and various announcements of upcoming cultural events held in April 1983 in New York such as the presentation of The Finnish National Opera by Jane Hermann on the occasion of its first tour in New York. Excerpts from The King Christian II suite composed by Jean Sibelius, and from two Finnish operas, Aullis Sallinen's The red line (Punainen viiva), and Joonas Kokkonen's The last temptations (Viimeiset kiusaukset) are played during the program.
