Description
Lewis Archibald, a journalist who wrote for the magazine "Downtown," interviews American comedian, actor and musician Steve Martin. Martin talks about his acting career, and the roles he played in various productions in the 1970's-1980's such as the role of Arthur in the 1981 musical film "Pennies from heaven" adapted from a 1978 BBC television drama for American audiences by Dennis Potter, who changed its setting from London and the Forest of Dean to Depression era Chicago and rural Illinois, that was recently released; and his work on the comedy-mystery film "Dead men don't wear plaid" as co-writer, narrator and actor (the film was released in 1982). He also discusses his personal and professional relationships with various film directors; his writing, musical and comedian career; and his influences and mentors.
