Biographical/historical: American painter Winslow Homer began his career as an illustrator and lithographer in Boston. In 1859 he moved to New York City, where he worked for Harper's Weekly as an illustrator.

Content: Double page; top row includes scenes labeled 5th Avenue, The origin of Christmas, and 59th Street; bottom row depicts a Christmas party, with dancing children among the guests.
