Description
Part 1. Leida Snow interviews Nick Scandalios, a Broadway theatre producer, and the executive vice president of the Nederlander Organization. Scandalios talks about the history, structure and theatrical activity of the Nederlander Organization, one of the largest owners of legitimate theatres in the world, as well as one of the largest theatrical producing organizations in North America. He also speaks about his passion for theater and about his friends and colleagues such as James (Jimmy) M. Nederlander, Chairman of The Nederlander Organization of that time, James L. Nederlander, president of The Nederlander Organization, and others. Part 2 (00-17:22 minutes). Snow interviews Scott Ellis, American stage and television director, who talks about various productions that he directed such as the 1993 Roundabout Theatre Company production of a Broadway revival of the musical "She loves me;" and his plan to direct the play "The rainmaker" (written by N. Richard Nash in the early 1950's; that was revived on Broadway in 1999). Part 2 (17:23-40:13 minutes). Snow interviews James L. Nederlander, Jr., the president of The Nederlander Organization, who talks about the work with his father and about his professional career as operator, producer (since 1984), presenter, and a theatre owner (since 1970).
