DescriptionThis documentary combines interviews and rehearsal sequences with Works & process panel discussion and performance excerpts. Steve Reich discusses the evolution of his music into the orchestal realm, and Nagano provides a conductor's point of view. Selections from the first movement of The four sections are performed. In the second part of the program, Reich and Metheny discuss the composer's work for electric guitar, and Metheny performs improvisations and demonstrates overdubbing by playing excerpts from Electric counterpoint.
