Description
Subject: Map of the Mississippi River done around the time of the Mississippi Bubble in 1720 led by John Law. Shows the river from its mouth shown in Florida north to present day Canada. Also shows settlements of various Native American tribes. The middle portion of the United States is condensed to show the Great Lakes relatively close to the Gulf of Mexico. Seal of the Mississippi Company at upper left. Includes coat of arms: "Het Wapen van de Compagnie." Place names in French. Motto of company seal in Dutch. Relief shown pictorially.
