Gloria Contreras reads excerpts from her book, What I learned from Balanchine, including her first encounter with Balanchine, how her style changed due to Balanchines influence, how she implemented what she learned from Balanchine after leaving the School of American Ballet, how Balanchine's legacy has been transformed in Mexico and how his ideas inspired this movement, and she concludes by donating her collection to the Dance Division. Judi Freeman Coopersmith and Marlene Mesavage DeSavino briefly talk about their experiences working with Gloria Contreras.
