Dance excerpts featuring Nureyev include: Vakhtang Chabukiani's Laurencia; Nina Anisimova's Gayane pas de deux; Petipa's The sleeping beauty; August Bournonville's Flower festival at Genzano; the television version of Paul Taylor's Big Bertha; "Top hat" with the Muppets on television; Vladimir Bourmeister's Swan lake (with Natalia Makarova). Wearing practice clothes, Nureyev is also seen partnering the ballerina in a dress rehearsal of his own production of Raymonda for the Paris Opéra Ballet. An excerpt of his production of La bayadère is also shown.

Description
Compilation of two brief documentaries created for screening in 2003 on the tenth anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev's death. The first, screened at the Opéra de Paris on Jan. 20, 2003, covers the highlights of his life and career, with emphasis on his connections with the Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris as dancer, choreographer, and artistic director. The second, presented during a month of tribute performances by the Ballet de l'Opéra National de Bordeaux in Feb. 2003, examines his range and versatility as a dancer.
