Includes a dancer in a bird (?) mask, a men's dance with spades, dancing by men wearing women's clothing and jewelry, a line dance by women accompanied by a woman drummer, an initiation ritual (?) for four men in masks or hoods, a ritual (?) involving gourds of liquid which are poured and drunk by participants, a dancer wearing a mask representing the stylized figure of a woman, dancing drummers, and dancing and singing by a women's ensemble. |||| Reel 2 (ca. 13 min.). Indoor performance onstage in the sub-prefecture of Kamsar, including singing, drumming, and dancing.

Description
Documentation of part of a three-week trip to the interior of Guinea, made by Kemoko Sano and Hamidou Bagoura, respectively choreographer and technical director of Les Ballets Africains of the Republic of Guinea, in search of promising musicians and dancers who might be recruited for the company, and source material for new works. At each site they visited, they were received by local authorities, and watched local troupes. They are often glimpsed observing, recording, and occasionally taking part in the performances.
