Description
Incloses extract from the minutes of the Council of Safety, recommending officers for the Delaware battalion, as follows: Colonel, John Haslet; Lieut.-Col., Gunning Bedford; Major, McPherson; Captains, Joseph Stedham, Jonathan Caldwell, David Hall, Henry Darby, Charles Pope, Nathan Adams, Samuel Smith, and Joseph Vaughan; Chaplain, Joseph Montgomery; they desire that a paymaster be appointed, George Latimer being their choice; asks him to procure money from Congress for the expenses of recruiting; their paper money will not be ready until March; condoles with him on the death of Mrs. Dunn.
