Content: A great parade in the manner of a Roman triumph was held in Berlin to celebrate the victory on the Western Front over the alliance of Britain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Many in Germany had expected a repeat of the terrible stalemated trench battles of World War I; to them this speedy and lop-sided triumph seemed miraculous. This picture's caption begins on Image ID: 3975591.
