Description
The program begins with a recital (about 3 minutes) of an essay, one of 5 chosen among over 200 sent to the station in response to a call for "musical heroes", in which the author Mercure pays tribute to Leonard Bernstein's teaching style that ignited in her and many others love and passion for classical music through his TV series "Young people's concerts." The rest of the program is the beginning of Bernstein's lecture on 1956 TV series "Omnibus" in which he scrupulously examines Beethoven's 5th symphony. The end of the program is cut.
