Description
Martin Bookspan interviews American composer and music critic Virgil Thomson. Thomson speaks about his career as a composer. He discusses such topics as a variety of styles in contemporary music in the USA; his work with various genres of music; his prolonged period in Paris, and his French influences; and his work as a chief music critic for the New York Herald Tribune. The composer also introduces his opera Lord Byron.
