Bibliography: Two music tracks identified on the audiotape reels ("Sometimes I'm happy" and "If dreams come true") were not featured on the 1950 Columbia recording. According to Wikipedia, these tracks were eventually included in the 1999 reissue, produced by Phil Schaap. (1999 version available in CD JAZZ Goodman-4431). Another version of the 1950 recording, "Benny Goodman: live at Carnegie Hall" (John Hammond, producer) was digitally mastered at CBS, and prepared for CD by Teo Marcero in the 1980s. (This version is available in *LDC 2689 (F)).

Description
The audio comes from George Avakian's master tape recordings of "The famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz concert" by Benny Goodman. Avakian was the music producer (Columbia Records) of the original release/issue of the live performance LP album (Columbia SL-160), first released in 1950. "A landmark recording, it was the premiere performance given by a jazz orchestra in the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City. It is the first ever double album"--Wikipedia.
