Content: "South-Carolina. The actual commencement of hostilities against this continent--the threats of arbitrary impositions from abroad,--and the dread of instigated insurrections at home,--are causes sufficient to drive an oppressed people to the use of arms. We, therefore, the subscribers, inhabitants of this unhappy colony ... do unite ourselves, under every tie of religion and of honour, and associate as a band for her defence ... Proposed in General Committee and unanimously approved ... "
