Description
The thermae or baths of Caracalla were built of brick during the reign of emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, known as Caracalla. Construction began in 212 and was completed in 217 AD. The complex housed baths as well as a library, gym, eating facilities, gardens and a swimming pool.
