Notes
Statement of responsibility: "Raphael Tuck & Sons' 'OILETTE' [Regd.] Postcard 2052. Art Publishers to their Majesties the King and Queen"--printed on verso.
Content: "Old landmarks of New York." "St. Mark's Church is in the old colonial style of ecclesiastical architecture. The interior preserves old time quaintness, and displays many memorial tablets. Peter Stuyvesant, the Dutch Governor, lies buried in a vault beneath the eastern outer wall, where also repose the remains of Henry Sloughter, the English Royal Governor and Daniel Tompkins. The church was originally called "Two Mile-Stone Meeting House," being two miles from the centre of the city. The original church, organised in 1791, was torn down, and the present edifice erected in 1826."
