Notes
Biographical/historical: Sisters Miriam and Irene Marmein, performing as the Marmein Sisters, toured the United States on the Keith vaudeville circuit in the late 1910's. In the early 1920's, sister Phyllis joined them to become The Marmeins, and later the Marmein Dancers. Their specialty was what they called their "Original Drama-Dances" which were short, thematically-varied, pieces, often as many as fifteen per show, elaborately costumed and with many scenic elements, and, rare for the time, sometimes using the spoken word.
