Content: Admission is granted through application to the Office of Special Collections.
Content: DW65 includes title written in ink by artist.
Content: Etchings of the Pacific from sketches Meryon made during his voyage there in 1842-1846, including views of Akaroa, New Zeland, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Tonga, Uvea and the Pacific Ocean. Other subjects include bays, beaches, chickens, dogs, drift net fishing, fishers, grass huts, islands, mountains, palms, poetry, sailboats and swine. Some prints include the artist's monogram. Some prints are present in more than one state.
Content: Forms part of Samuel Putnam Avery Collection.
Content: Gift of Samuel Putnam Avery, 1900. DW66 bears collector's mark of an unidentified French collection (Lugt 160)
