Description
Filmed at Steinway & Sons in New York City, Billy Taylor, a jazz musician and host of the TV series, interviews Watts, a prominent classical music pianist. The assessment of various instruments with commentary as to the quality of the sound is followed by a discussion of the differences and similarities between performing classical music and jazz, Watts's repertoire of choice (preference to play European classical composers and the reason for avoiding playing American contemporary composers), improvisation essential in jazz and not in classical music, some composers that Watts plays, and other aspects related to classical and jazz music.
