Physical Description
Engravings
Extent: 1 print : 22.5 x 16.8 cm, Mount: 27.1 x 21.1 cm
This print is trimmed to the platemark, and is mounted on another sheet of laid paper. There are inscriptions on the mount sheet in Dutch, below the print and on the reverse, but these seem to be much later, and appear to be relating to Steendam's biography--I can make out "Distelvink" a few times, and "Batavia." The print is attached to the mount along the upper and lower edges; from the part that is visible/not attached to the mount (center 2/3 of print sheet), there is no writing on the verso, just NYPL property stamps.
