Description
Film version of Chinese dance drama inspired by the Dunhuang cave murals of the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907). The story relates the adventures of beautiful Ying Niang along the Silk Road. After being kidnapped by bandits and forced to perform with an acrobatic troupe, she is freed by a ransom paid on behalf of her painter-father by a Persian merchant. He Yang-yung is featured as the heroine Ying Niang.
