First pas de trois danced by Blum and two women ; second pas de trois danced by Govrin and two men ; pas de deux danced by Farrell and Mitchell -- The nutcracker: Act II, pas de deux [excerpt] (ca. 7 min.) / filmed on January 5, 1966 ; choreography, George Balanchine, to music by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky ; scenery and lighting, Rouben Ter-Arutunian ; costumes, Karinska ; danced by Allegra Kent (Sugar Plum Fairy) and Conrad Ludlow (her Cavalier). The ending is filmed twice.

Content: Silent films originally photographed ca. 1964 and in 1969 ; compiled and transferred to videotape with titles added in 1995 by the Dance Collection.

Venue: Filmed in performance at New York State Theater, New York, ca. 1964 and 1966 (see below).
Funding: Preservation of these films photographed by Dr. Michael Truppin was made possible through the cooperation of Andrea Truppin, Nicola Truppin, Dr. Ada Truppin, and the Jerome Robbins Archive of the Recorded Moving Image of the Dance Collection of The New York Public Library, with the support of Paul Lepercq.
