Christensen; they talk about the history of ballet and where it began; starting schools; the difference between modern and ballet; ballet in Beijing, China; how dance is affected by religion; ballet being the ABC's of all types of movement; hieroglyphics and pyramids; regional ballet companies in U.S. including San Francisco Ballet and Ballet West; Christensen performing in vaudeville; ballet originally being supported by Aristocracy and now being supported by business; dance shouldn't be judged by how popular it is or how many people are in the audience; why D'Amboise turned down directing NYCB; the story behind D'Amboise leaving SUNY Purchase as the Director of Dance; being in gangs as a child in New York; and final thoughts from both participants.
