Description
Baryshnikov introduces White Oak Dance Project's nationwide tour called "Past Forward." The 8 minute segment is followed by short interviews and accounts from choreographers who motivated Baryshnikov and took part in the creation of Past Forward: Trisha Brown, Lucinda Childs, Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Rauschenberg, Simone Forti and Deborah Hay. All segments are filmed by Charles Atlas and directed by David Gordon. A version of this recording called "White Oak Dance Project : Past Forward, Baryshnikov narration and Rainer intro" starts with the same first 8 minutes as does this recording but proceeds with other filmed segments and clips.
