Content: John Gruen and Antony Tudor speak about his very recent appointment as Associate Director of American Ballet Theatre; Lucia Chase; Oliver Smith; his view that the director of a company should not also choreograph; supervising rehearsals; Sallie [Wilson], Natasha [Natalia Makarova], and Cynthia [Gregory]; difficulties with notating his works.

Sound quality is good. The recording is marred by extraneous noise including "tape hiss" and occasional gaps, but the speakers' voices are easily intelligible.
