Venue: This was the first time that a general meeting of the various groups belonging to a single tradition had ever been held in Bhutan. Held at the request of Core of Culture Dance Preservation, the Meeting took place at Yungdrung Choeling Dzong - the seat of the mummified remains of Pema Lingpa himself - and hence a very auspicious venue.
Content: Programme for the Peling Champa Meeting: Yungdrung Choeling Dzong, Second Day (May 17, 2007): Phag-cham by a lay dancer Yungdrung Choeling ; Peling Ju-ging by monk dancers from Tamzhing, Bumthang ; Peling Nga Cham by laymen dancers from Tamzhing, Bumthang ; Cham-chen (One of the most sacred dances of the Peling tradition). Demonstrated by the Umzey Tsultrim Lhoday from Tamzhing Monastery, Bumthang ; Zhungdra (folk dance) by ladies from Yungdrung Choeling, Trongsa ; Lunch Break ; Durdag by monk dancers from Yungdrung Choeling, Trongsa ; Peling Dri-ging by monk dancers from Tamzhing, Bumthang ; Peling Nga Ging by monk dancers from Tamzhing, Bumthang.
Performers: Performed by a lay dancer from Yungdrung Choeling.
Venue: Videotaped in performance at the Yungdrung Choeling Dzong, in Trongsa, Bhutan (lower balcony looking along the diagonal sinister), on May 17, 2007.
