Description
About the Dance Theatre of Erie, a regional ballet company organized in 1977. Artistic director Lawrence W. Jones discusses the development of company and school, stimulating community support through a Fusion of Arts series, a combination of lectures, exhibits, dance performances, and musical concerts, and the value of touring. P.W. Manchester comments on the role of an artistic director, developing an audience, and the professional attitude of the Erie students. Excerpts of company performances include Haydn, The firebird, Remembering, and Rhapsody in blue, as well as a joint concert with the Cincinnati Ballet.
