Bibliographic history: "Dresses 1957, Vol.2" is written on border. A "godet"is a triangular piece of material inserted into a dress to give it a fuller, more flared look. Pointed pieces of lace-edged white fabric against the pink of the bodice replicate the effect of the skirt. The quality of this drawing, with the artist's rendering of the textures of different materials, is impressive.
