Content: Cofferets or caskets of this type are known to have been used as dispatch and book boxes. It is possible that, withthe addition of a consecrated altar stone, they may have served as portable altars.

Content: Leather covered wooden box bound with metal straps; fittedwith lock and with lugs at sides to hold a carrying strap;lid slightly vaulted; bottom largely restored. Probably made in Paris between 1480 and 1520.
Content: Woodcut (Schreiber 750) of the Almighty Enthroned, hand colored, pasted inside lid, had appeared in the Verdun missal printed by Jean Du Pré in Paris in 1481.
