DescriptionJeraldyne Blunden and Dawn Wood, respectively founder/artistic director and dancer/rehearsal director of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, remember the late Ulysses Dove as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. They discuss his creation of Vespers for the company, and the special choreographic qualities displayed in this work and in Inside, a solo created for Judith Jamison. Wood recalls the experience of serving as rehearsal director for Vespers and Urban folk dance. Both she and Blunden contrast the high standards and drive of his professional life with the warmth and humanity he displayed in private life.
