Biographical/historical: An anonymous caricature of the aging Auguste Vestris, possibly published between the time of his last Paris Opéra première, in Pierre Gardel's ballet L'Enfant prodigue, April 28, 1816, and his official farewell, September 27, 1816.

Description
Depicts Vestris as an old man with large beak-like nose and exaggerated muscular development of limbs. The dancer, wearing a short sheer tunic trimmed with flowers, is on left demi-pointe with right leg extended effacé en avant.
