Notes
Content: Hercules is usually shown holding a club and dressed in a cloak made from a lion's head and hide, but here he has what looks like a deerskin draped over his arm. The apple Hercules holds out to Jupiter (Greek Zeus) looks like a snowball, having been drawn in a simplified form following artistic conventions of the time (notice the others on the tree behind). Behind Jupiter may be Diana (Greek Artemis) with her huntress' bow and Apollo.
