Sir James Outram bart GCB & in lasting testimony to his gallantry self devotion & high chivalrous bearing during the operations attending on & following the relief of Lucknow 1857 of H. M. Bombay Army by his friends admirers & brother officers in token of their affectionate regard & appreciation of those sterling qualities which have ever marked his brilliant career since 1818." Printed on border: "From a photograph by the London Stereoscopic Company. See next page." Written on border: "Aug 30, 1862."
