The interview itself was recorded (probably on December 19, 1975) prior to the recording of the rest of the program, which was broadcast on December 22.

John Gruen introduces his guest Murray Louis [pre-recorded interview begins]; Gruen notes the currently ongoing performance of Murray's works at the New York University theatre; Gruen and Louis speak about Louis's ballet Moments [original title: Moment]; his ballet Catalogue; the conceptual basis of his choreography; his work Scheherazade, a dream; his childhood including his impressions of Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey and his decision to become a dancer; his association with Alwin Nikolais and their shared pool of dancers; more on the principles underlying his choreography and the choreographic process; working with Rudolf Nureyev in his work Moments [end of pre-recorded interview; commercial announcement]; Gruen names the dancers in the Murray Louis Dance Company [a recording of an excerpt from the music, by Maurice Ravel, used for Moments, is played followed by various commercial and other announcements as well as short sections of recorded music].
