Venue: Videotaped in rehearsals at the Cunningham studio, Westbeth, New York City, Aug. 1985 (Arcade, early version) and Mar. 1986 (Fielding sixes, Arcade final version).
Biographical/historical: Fielding sixes premiered on June 30, 1980, in London, with a musical score by John Cage. Arcade was commissioned by the Pennsylvania Ballet and premiered Sept. 1985 at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia; Arcade was first performed by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in November, 1985 at the University of Pennsylvania. Arcade had a musical score by John Cage.

Description
This video features two studio run-throughs of Arcade, the first an early, incomplete version and the second the complete final version. The second rehearsal on the video is an excerpt from Fielding sixes; this recording is black-and-white and silent.
