DescriptionFifth and sixth year syllabus for a training course in Manipuri dance, first created by Guru Bipin Singh in 1958 and revised by him in 1972. The first part of the fifth year syllabus appears on *MGZIC 9-4769. The course is based on Singh's in-depth study of oral traditions of dance and music, particularly the dance forms of Sankirtan and Rasleelas, correlated with various Vaishnavite and ancient Indian texts on dance and music. It includes traditional compositions as well as original choreography by Singh.
