This German machinery book is devoted to pumps, presses, and milling machinery. Machines depicted include paper mills, grinding apparatus for sharpening, and windmills. The diagrams might seem familiar, as they were copied by other printers of technical manuals for the next century.

Comprise added t.p. by Mathias van Somer after Böckler and 154 prints from the original ed., chiefly repeated from various sources. Thirty signed B.S. f. or Balt. Schw. (i.e. Balthasar Schwan) and eight signed EK or E. Kieser (i.e. Eberhard Kieser) originally engraved by Schwan or Kieser after J. de Strada and published in the latter's Première-[seconde] partie des desseins artificiaulx de toutes sortes de moulins ... (Franfurt, 1617-1618); cf. preface, p. [3-4]. One signed with monogram OK or KO. Eighteen are reversed and altered copies of prints originally published in Agostino Ramelli's Diverse et artificiose machine (Paris, 1588). Others are reversed and altered copies of prints originally published in Salamon Caus' Raisons des forces mouvantes (Frankfurt, 1615); Georg Agricola's De re metallica (Basel, 1556); and Vittorio Zonca's Novo teatro di machine et edificii (Padua, 1607).
