Description
500 postcards depicting New York City primarily in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Both front and back of the cards are viewable. Includes views of bridges, parks, notable buildings, skyline, monuments, schools, neighborhoods, skyscrapers and many others. Primarily photomechanical reproductions of black & white photographs with the addition of hand coloring or lithographic tints. Also includes reproductions of artwork and "real photo" views. The collection comprises over 25,000 postcards that have been donated to the Picture Collection over its 100-year history.
