Date/sequential designation: Presumably printed before the editions with dedications dated 1610, for which the first plate was altered to provide a larger compartment for the title.
Content: Illustrations: 32 full-page copper engravings (including illustrated title-page). One is signed I. V. H. and another has the monogram of Giacomo Franco. Most are signed: Franco forma, which Thieme-Becker interprets as meaning that he was the publisher, not necessarily the engraver. For reproductions, cf. the 1878 facsimile of the 1610 edition.
Numbering: The pencilled numbers on the plates agree with the numbering in the 1878 ongania facsimile of the edition with slightly different title and dedication dated 1610. The order of plates varies. In this book the plates are arranged as follows: 1, 2, 4, 3, 6, 5, 24, 26, 1 6, 23, 21, 32, 34, 33, 36, 39, 15, 19, 28, 22, 20, 27, 31, 29, 37, 13, 12, 10, 25, 14, 11, (The plates numbered as follows in the facsimile are not present: 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 30, 35, 38, 40, 41.)
